The opening fixtures in the Wessex Premier League for the Poppies have been added under the news items section. |
TONY KEMPSTER (16/06/2009) |
The website set up and run by Tony has become a magnificent source of information over the years so it is with great sadness that I have to report that one of Non-League's best ambassadors passed away on Sunday 14 June after a year long battle against cancer. The thoughts of all at the Club go out at this sad time to his wife and family. |
PROGRAMME NEWS (05/06/2009) |
The Poppies programme was again in the awards in the "Programme Monthly" Non League Programme Awards survey, coming a creditable second in the Premier Divsion- for the third season in a row. This time securing 337 points (winners Poole Town had 346 points), representing a further improvement. In 2007/08 the programme grabbed 239 points with the winners having 262 points. Although the winners made no improvement in points scored from 2006/07 we improved from 223 points to again claim the runners-up spot in the Wessex League. Even more news- we came second in the Soccer Swap Shop Awards for the Wessex League in 2008/09 as well (winners were again Poole Town), and came 78th in the overall summary. |

COWES SPORTS AWAY- UPDATE (04/03/2009) |
The game at Cowes Sports was abandoned after 77 minutes due to torrential rainfall. The pitch had water laying on it from very early on although this didn't affect the play greatly, but conditions worsened as the game progressed and a torrential downpour at around 9pm eventually meant the game had to be abandoned. THE GAME WILL BE REPLAYED- TUESDAY 24 MARCH.Kick off 7.45pm |
WESSEX LEAGUE CUP (14/02/2009) |
The draw for the semi final was recently made, and will be Hayling United or Hamworthy United versus Poole Town, and VT or Christchurch versus Moneyfields. Games over two legs, and scheduled for 10/11 March with the return on 24./25 March. Likewise the Combination Cupo semi finals are Christchurch versus Bemerton Heath Harlequins and Bashley versus Hayling United or Gosport Borough. |
MARC BURROWS (11/02/2009) |
Many of you will know that Marc has been fighting cancer. Tragically he died on Monday so our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and all at Christchurch FC. The funeral will be at St Augustin's Church, Cemetery Junction, Bournemouth on Monday 23 February at 2.30pm. |
COMMERCIAL MANAGER (16/10/2008) |
Eddie Mills, recently appointed as Commercial Manager with the club has left- joining Blue Square South side Bognor Regis Town.
The Sussex side are currently struggling near the foot of their league.
We wish Eddie all the best in his new venture. |
